Dr. Susan Camarena

Dr. Camarena leads the FTA Learning and Knowledge Management Group, which has the mission of enhancing individual, team and organizational effectiveness by providing procedures, tools and activities that connect FTA’s people with what and whom they need to know, facilitate learning and collaboration across the Agency, promote professional and personal development and stimulates employee engagement. Before joining FTA, Dr. Camarena led the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Knowledge for Development (KfD) Program and was the Chief of the USAID Development Information Division.
Prior to her civil service career, Dr. Camarena served in the U.S. Army as a Signal Corps officer. She completed her Army career at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Dr. Camarena holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan, a MS in Educational Leadership from Troy University, and a Doctor of Management from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC).
