Nicoletta Giordani

Nicoletta S. Giordani is a national security and business expert specializing in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, national security investment reviews, and Federal budget formulation and execution. At the White House Office of Management and Budget, National Security Division, Ms. Giordani oversees the formulation and execution of budget, analyzes budgetary, management, and legislative proposals, and reviews and approves financial plans within the Department of Defense (DOD) portfolio.
Previously, Ms. Giordani was the Assistant Director for Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) at Defense Security Service, the agency within DOD that oversees the protection of U.S. critical technology and information under the National Industrial Security Program for DOD and 32 other agencies across the Federal Government. In this role, she advised senior leadership on opportunities and challenges to the industrial base from foreign direct investment, global market trends, and technology transfers. This included representing the agency on matters related to foreign investments at the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), an interagency body that reviews foreign investment for national security considerations.
Before joining the U.S. Government, Ms. Giordani held various senior positions in the private sector at multinational corporations including Accenture, Credit Suisse, and UBS. Ms. Giordani received a M.A. in International Economics and Strategic Studies from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a Bachelor and a Master of Business Administration joint degree from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (UCSC). She is a graduate of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government Senior Executive Fellows Program and the Venture Capital Program at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
