Marc Tkach, a Director at the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), is a global infrastructure specialist, project management coach, and change agent. Mr. Tkach began his career as a civil engineering officer in the U.S. Air Force. He later joined an engineering firm and then MCC. At MCC, Mr. Tkach led the development and delivery of transformative infrastructure programs in developing and post-conflict countries. His focus on water has grown to include sustainability and the policy and reform required to ensure long-term success of the Federal Government’s investments.
Recently, he worked with Indonesian provincial governments to develop projects that attract capital finance and upgrade the facilities and operational practices at the Lusaka water authority in Zambia. Mr. Tkach’s favorite achievement at MCC is the establishment of the Integrated Program Management (IPM) practice. IPM brings together governments in the planning and implementation of complex programs resulting in greater ownership, sustainability, and impact.
Mr. Tkach has a master’s degree in sustainability leadership from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Southern California, and a certificate in public policy from Harvard University. As a White House Fellow, Mr. Tkach is assigned to the Office of the Chief Statistician of the United States, where he is leading efforts to stand up the National Secure Data Service. Mr. Tkach’s interests outside of work include photography, camping, and hiking with his wife and two sons, and taking courses in anything he hasn’t learned about yet.
