Kimberly Smith is an expert in development finance policy and statistics which she gained during her 18-year career in international development. Ms. Smith serves as a senior financial economist for USAID where she oversees the Agency’s and U.S. Government’s international and Congressional foreign assistance reporting requirements.
Ms. Smith represents the United States in various international fora, including as the U.S. delegate to the OECD’s Development Assistance Committee (DAC) Working Party on Development Finance and Statistics (WP-STAT). In this capacity, Ms. Smith works extensively with inter-agency colleagues, external stakeholders and other donors to negotiate, build consensus, and advance USAID and U.S. Government policy priorities. Prior to joining USAID, Ms. Smith worked as Policy Analyst at the OECD’s Development Cooperation Directorate in Paris, France where she led efforts to increase the transparency of global aid flows, engaging with multilateral agencies and countries outside the organization’s membership.
Ms. Smith earned a Master’s Degree in Economics from the American University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Gettysburg College.
