Khoa Vo

National Aeronautics and Space Administration

Khoa Vo is chief of the Spaceport Systems Branch in Exploration Research and Technology Programs at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Vo is responsible for leading a team of engineers and scientists developing innovative technologies for spaceports and surface systems to enable NASA’s mission of returning humans to the Moon for long-term exploration and utilization, followed by human missions to Mars and other destinations. Prior to his current assignment, Vo held various positions within the Engineering Directorate at Kennedy. Vo was the chief for the Hardware Systems Branch where he managed a team of engineers providing network and computer engineering expertise to various programs at the Florida spaceport. Prior to that, he was the technical integration manager for the Control and Data Systems Division. In that capacity, Vo led and coordinated the Engineering Directorate’s implementation of command and control capabilities at Kennedy for the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. Vo began his professional career in 1999 as a software engineer with Lockheed Martin, then moved to United Space Alliance as a space shuttle systems engineer.

In 2004, Vo joined NASA as a software engineer for the Shuttle Launch Processing System. Vo earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Central Florida and a Master’s in Software Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology.
