Jennifer K. McDannell

Department of Justice

2018 fellow

Jennifer K. McDannell is a Deputy Chief at the United States Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Disability Rights Section. She oversees investigation, litigation, and compliance monitoring of matters brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act, including employment, service animals, effective communication, unnecessary segregation, and architectural barriers. In addition, Ms. McDannell has extensive experience in hiring, supervising both attorneys and non-attorneys, professional development programming, and performance management. She has been with DOJ since 2009.

Prior to her federal service, for twelve years Ms. McDannell litigated large commercial disputes on behalf of fortune 50 clients for the global law firm Howrey LLP.

Ms. McDannell has a B.S. from Tulane University and a J.D. from Duke University School of Law.
