In December 2019, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) along with the National Association of State Chief Administrators (NASCA) held the Service to Citizens in the 21st Century Summit, bringing together senior state and federal government management executives to strategize ways to improve and modernize service to citizens. This year’s summit focused on using shared services and consolidating management functions to efficiently and consistently deliver customer-driven results. We’ve rounded up highlights below:
Attendees heard from Suzette Kent, Federal CIO, about transforming government services.
Attendees discuss shared services and the importance of a customer-centric approach.
Attendees identify themes to enhance service to citizens.
Margaret Weichert, Deputy Director for Management at the Office of Management and Budget, shares her thoughts on how to make government work for its citizens in the 21st Century.
In the coming months, OMB and NASCA will partner on ways to better understand and measure the customer service relationship between Federal agencies and states, who together provide critical services to the American public.
