We’re not crying; you’re crying! #GovLove 2023 has officially ended, but while we process the heartbreak, let’s relive our favorite memories, shoutouts, and love notes from our federal agencies, programs, and individual superstars.

The third annual #GovLove took us back to our school days of delivering paper valentines to classmates. From February 13 to 17, Performance.gov partnered with agencies and programs to spread some love across the government. We sent, received, and saw heartfelt DIY social media posts shared all week to highlight our federal workforce’s incredible public service. Thank you to all of our many participants and collaborators who have made this our most engaging GovLove yet! Now let’s look back at some notable #GovLove shoutouts from Twitter and LinkedIn. For a complete look at all valentines shared this season, check out the #GovLove hashtag on Twitter and Linkedin!

A Few #GovLove Notes

The U.S. Census Bureau delivered some #GovLove to their survey sponsors, who conduct more than 130 surveys and programs each year, including our nation’s largest household survey and business survey.

Performance.gov shared some #GovLove with the United States Postal Service for their tireless efforts to consistently deliver for the American people.

Our 14th Librarian of Congress, Carla Hayden, expressed a heartful Valentine’s Day appreciation for librarians and library workers across the country with photos of some of the faces behind our incredible library workforce.

The Department of Education shared its not-so-secret admiration for the Library of Congress in its #GovLove message on Twitter.

The National Institute of Health’s (NIH) National Library of Medicine (NLM) responded to Performance.gov’s love note with its own Shakespearian limerick straight from the heart.

The Department of State sent a sweet #GovLove note to all their friends and colleagues.

The Department of Veterans Affairs made its partnership status #GovLove official with its heartfelt post for the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance program.

Joining Forces shared a beautiful #GovLove message from First Lady Dr. Jill Biden to all the military and veteran spouses, caregivers, and survivors.

General Services Administration (GSA) Administrator Robin Carnahan gave us a look into GSA’s Workplace Innovation Lab in Washington, D.C.! This workspace showcases the latest innovations in office design, furniture, and technology to meet the needs of today’s federal workers.

The City of Gainesville, Florida, expressed some local #GovLove with their very own valentines about civic service.
