Serving ~31.7 million small businesses, the agency distributes loans and investments, provides business coaching to entrepreneurs, distributes disaster loans, and supports with disaster assistance declarations.

Applying for a Small Business Administration disaster loan
When disaster strikes, SBA is charged with providing low-interest disaster loans to businesses, non-profits, homeowners, and renters to fully repair or replace disaster losses not covered by insurance or other recoveries. This service covers the full customer journey related to the disaster loan, including program awareness, application intake, loan processing, closing and disbursement, and servicing. In FY22, SBA approved more then 36,500 direct disaster loans, totaling $1.96 billion.

SBA offers contracting certifications that provide small businesses with an advantage in competing for federal contracts and support equitable distribution of the $650 billion in annual federal spending. SBA is streamlining multiple government contracting programs into a unified digital experience for customers seeking small business contracting certifications by consolidating and simplifying application questions, aligning the application process across all programs, and improving internal processes to provide a quick and easy application experience.
